Nature provides an abundance of natural ingredients that heal and balance the body. Furthermore, the health of our body is intimately connected to the health of the natural world that surrounds us. When this balance is upset it has an impact on our wellbeing.
We believe that everything is connected. Healthy people depend on a healthy planet, and vice versa, so our mission it not only to protect your health but to protect the health of the environment. This creates the path for true well-being.
In addition to the examples below, our commitment to the environment is also a strong component of our corporate culture and is demonstrated through our partnership with 1% for the Planet. Through this partnership we are proud to support environmental organizations such as The David Suzuki Foundation.
6 of our products* have been certified by the Non-GMO Project, North America’s only third-party verification and labeling organization for non-GMO food and products.
An exciting new brain health product that sources EPA+DHA from squid oil. The squid oil sourced for our products is unparalleled for sustainable andeco-friendly resource management. The traditional jig-method used in squid fishing means virtually no by-catch or damage to ocean flora. Plus, wild squid is one of the richest sources of omega-3 containing 35% more omega-3 than wild salmon and 100% more than krill!
Our commitment to resource diversification means that we’re always looking for sustainable ingredient sources, which is why we use a range of anchovy, sardines, mackerel, and wild squid, as well as echium and algae. By not relying on one single species exclusively, we lessen our overall impact, helping to maintain and protect the important balance of our seas and oceans.
Our raw fish oil is sourced from the Peruvian fish industry, widely regarded for its resource management and sustainable practices. Our fish oil comes from the herring family (anchovy, sardine, and/or mackerel), small fatty fish that are low on the food chain and reproduce quickly.
The wild squid used in our products are selected based on their fast growth and short life-cycles. A sustainable and environmentally sound source of omega-3, we use the parts of the squid that are not used in calamari.
Our plant-based products use fast-growing plant species like echium and algae. The plants we’ve chosen are high in the omega-3 that you’d expect from our products and they are also low input crops. Some people consider these plants invasive species and harvesting them has a positive impact on the biodiversity in the regions where they grow.
